My daughter Laura got me to put on ice skates during Thanksgiving in Boulder. The skates were too small but I refused to be an old man. I was nevertheless.
Well, actually, I was rather impressed, since you DO live in SF, and lived so many years in other non-snow areas such as Seattle and El Paso. A small part of me was hoping your stint in Chicago had helped, and I’m guessing it did, ’cause you managed to stay on your feet the whole time. And you had the disadvantage of that coat which seemed to have added momentum.
I am ever so thankful to those cute hockey players at Colorado College that taught me to skate!
