I wrote a blog on 8/19 about the relevance of the Leavitt et al material on abortion and the decline in crime twenty years after abortion became available. The abortion movement ignores this startling finding.

I got an e-mail from Steven Sailor about his debate on this issue in Slate.

I’ve read Sailor’s material and find that Sailor doesn’t make his point successfully. Leavitt et al showed three different ways that there was a direct correlation between national, state and county increases in abortion and a decline in each of the same areas’ crime data twenty years later. Correlation and causality.

The issue of finding the mechanism for this correlation is what is being debated now. Sailor fails to see that the data is rigorous and stands firm. The mechanisms for bringing about the correlation remain debatable.
