Irrelevant Comment on The Wall Street Journal

I’ve read the WSJ for over fifty years, excluding the 1970’s when I paid no attention to any major media. Wsj

In the current few decades I found the news section was the same as the totally fake New York Times; I ignored it. I read primarily the last three pages of the front section and the Saturday supplement.  The supplement introduced me to Matt Ridley. Thank you.

I often read the Saturday supplement because it was more academic and intelligent.  Sometime in late 2023 I started to lose interest in the Saturday supplement and attributed my loss of interest to the new editor, Emma Tucker.  In the year and a half since then I have totally stopped reading the supplement as its quality began competing directly with the late Ladies Home Journal and Parade.

In general, Emma Tucker has had a strongly negative effect on the WSJ.  She just isn’t very bright.

All of which is to say I don’t mind that President Trump is suing the bastards.

I grew up with 2 parents who read the NY Times every morning. It was a religious experience – every day finding something incredibly funny in the NYTimes. And the puzzle… they did the puzzle.
Reading the NYT was to be sure, just a bit unusual for our town a community based on fruit farming and various forms of religious conservatives. But my life has been surrounded by music. L learned from music. Right now I hang out with a bunch of Detroiters who started a reddit called MusicThemeTime.
But I’ve had music all my life My best friends were a conservative kid Terry who loved the Beach Boys. But another very leftwing kid named Cyril who loved Bob Dylan,
My 3 sisters loved the Rolling Stones. I also had very religious friend named Lloyd whose dad was a right wing preadcher. But he was not as musical – ho Van Morrison. Van knows what music is about. Amd I was raised to value teamwork.
And I am so grateful – My Dad and Mom loved me a great deal. And I learned all that from Eric Clapton.
Now that COVID-19 is somewhat at least “in the past..” I really want to get back to work in what I do which is computer science.
Really appreciate you – especially for Briar Patch. Have cappuccino on me!
    – Rich
